I Saw Your Soul

With my inner pride
I leave the smoky lair
Outside in the rain
I breathe the moist air

Inside I leave the domain of another journeying soul
A moment in time to feel the sky darken and roll

Another soul is baffled by this earthy realm
Another body is sailing with no one at the helm

Another hour to birth
To have right now
Yes, I saw your soul
You, too, know how

Now the mist veils the stillness of the night
The dark takes the light and embraces it tight
