Close, Close

"Tight, tight Daddy" says little one
Hold you tight, then let you go, you need to fly

"Close, close" says the lover
Close yet far and open
"The pillars of the temple stand apart"

"Safe, safe" says the parent
But the journey is unsafe by nature
There is nothing safe on the path to freedom

"Heal, heal" says the teacher
But knows it is just a blessing, not a certainty
Balance is obtained by falling off both ends first

Cherish and set free in the same breath
Know anything can happen
